Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is in negotiations with Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. to purchase for $5.2 million, its asphalt plant near the proposed site of a third Penrose-St. Francis medical campus. The new hospital will be located at the northeast corner of Centennial Boulevard and Fillmore Street atop Fillmore hill in northwestern Colorado Springs.
Anticipating future growth in the area, the new campus will represent a sizeable health-care hub in west Colorado Springs. The location currently includes a Department of Veterans Affairs clinic, a Planned Parenthood clinic and Mountain View Medical Group’s offices. All expansion plans will require rezoning approvals from the City of Colorado Springs.
