Kaiser Permanente Will Stay in ACA Exchanges in 2018

Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente announced earlier this week that it will participate in the ACA health insurance exchanges next year.   With a commitment to the individual market, it intends to offer coverage options in all of the markets currently served by Kaiser around the country.    Kaiser currently operates individual exchanges in nine states including Colorado.

Kaiser Permanente posted a record breaking $1 billion operating gain in the first quarter on revenue of $18.1 billion.  This compares with a 2016 first quarter of $701 million on $16.3 billion in revenue.
