Newest UCHealth Hospital Opens

On the last day of August at 7:00 am, UCHealth’s most recent new construction hospital opened its doors to the public.  Longs Peak Hospital in Longmont received its license to operate the day before from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Longs Peak Hospital is a 51 inpatient-bed facility that also offers a Level III trauma center, an intensive care unit, emergency department and four operating rooms.  An ambulatory surgery center on the campus is scheduled to open this month.

On the following day, Friday, September 1, UCHealth finalized the acquisition of Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs.  Yampa Valley is the ninth hospital in the UCHealth system and the first hospital on the western slope for the system.
